About the raw material of hellocha
The plant of tea leaf that is the raw material is the same tea tree as Gyokuro. In addition, the highest quality tea leaves are the soft-growing new buds of the first picking that are harvested at the earliest stage.
＊Why is the first picking tea leaf：Only the first tea leaves are the essential requirements for making the highest quality tea. That's why they have the most amino acids with sweet and umami components, as the tea leaves in the sprouting season.
THE TEA PLANTATION IN GLOBALLY AGRICULTURAL HERITAGE AREA IN OITA
ABOUT THE TEA PLANTATION
The tea plantation that produces hellocha is located in the Globally Agricultural Heritage Designated Area of KUNISAKI Peninsula in Oita Prefecture. It is located in the scenic spot of the great nature seen rarely in the whole country.
JGAP is farm and group management standards and certification system used by farmer groups such as farms and JA. This is one of the farm production process control methods recommended by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries.（JAPAN GAP ASSOCIATION）
The tea plantation has first certified certification in Japan. It manages everything from soil preparation to the hands of consumers, and deliver safe and secure to customers. JGAP is Japanese version of Gap (Good Agricultural Practice) that originated in France, and it works on thorough risk management. It is a certification that is given to farms working on food safety and environmental preservation, and updating strict screening standards every year.
＊Among tea plantations in this country, 153 tea plants have received JGAP certification for producing rough tea. Furthermore, including this tea plantation have certified JGAP certification from the production of finishing tea which is the highest certification, are only six tea plantations in this country (July 2019).
＊At the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, It's limited to provide all foods and beverages that are JGAP-certified farm products for participating athletes.
